Saturday Morning Waffles

Nothing tops a sleepover at Nana’s more than Saturday Morning Waffles. Unless of course, you start your day with lots of cartoon watching in your pajamas and get to top your waffles with strawberries and whipped cream!! I’m a lucky girl! This morning, my “Our Generation” doll, Michaela, helped me with my waffle making! Saturday Morning WafflesThis was my first time making waffles (almost all by myself). After I got my dolls all set up, I started helping my Nana. The first thing I did was cut the strawberries. My Nana gets a little nervous when I use a sharp knife, but she watches me the entire time to make sure I’m being careful. Saturday Morning WafflesAfter the strawberries were cut, I made the waffle batter. I love cracking eggs! Nana says I have to crack them into a separate bowl so if a piece of shell falls in I can get it out and it doesn’t go into the batter. Uggh, who wants to bite into egg shell in your waffle? Saturday Morning Waffles

Saturday Morning WafflesWe used a boxed waffle mix and added the eggs, oil, and water. Lots of mixing and the batter was ready for the waffle maker.Saturday Morning Waffles

Since waffle makers get hot, Nana showed me the first time how to pour the batter, wait for the light to go on, and remove the waffle. I poured the batter for the second waffle, but Nana had to help me when the waffle was done.

Now, the fun part….plating our Saturday Morning Waffles!! I like butter and syrup and whipped cream and strawberries on mine! Sometimes I just get butter and syrup, but today Nana said I could have all the toppings! Shhh, don’t tell my Mommy & Daddy!Saturday Morning Waffles

When it was time to eat, Rosie got to join us for Saturday Morning Waffles! Rosie and Michaela like butter and syrup on theirs! They ate some strawberries too. And, we all drank a big glass of milk (I had two glasses).

Gigi says: “Sadurday Puujamus with most uf ol !Wafls! My doll gets to get wafls to. But my doll ceaps foling owt of her cher.

Nana translates: “Saturday pajamas, with most of all, waffles!! My doll gets to get waffles too. But, my doll keeps falling out of her chair.”

These waffles were amazing! I hope you like them!
